LEM historian Jonathan Anderson’s book, Our Fathers Saw His Mighty Works: The Lutheran Evangelistic Movement and a Forgotten Mid-20th Century Revival, was well-received following its release in July 2013. Sixteen chapters tell the story of the LEM’s origins, growth, and widespread use by God during its first two decades (1937-1957) and its significant role in a national revival. There are also three appendices, the third of which covers the LEM of the 1960’s and ‘70’s and the youth revival movement of those years.
Individual chapters can be read online here, or the printed book can be purchased for $17 plus $3 shipping. To purchase the book, use the Paypal link above or send a check to: Lutheran Evangelistic Movement, P.O. Box 131761, St. Paul, MN 55113-0020.
Now also available is a 46-minute video of Jonathan speaking about the book’s theme and storyline. This talk was recorded for the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations (ALFC) Pastor’s Conference in September 2014. The video can be viewed here.
